Leeds United evening headlines as Andrea Radrizzani makes huge financial admission, Foyth latest

Here are your Leeds United evening headlines for Tuesday, July 28.

Radrizzani reveals Leeds value after Premier League promotion

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has outlined that promotion to the Premier League will make the club three times the worth from when he bought them.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side will be the first Leeds team to play in the top flight since relegation in 2004 and the club's owner believes that the financial benefits will be huge.

Radrizzani bought the club for £100m in 2017 but, speaking to Corriere della Sera, the Italian said the club is now worth more than £300m.

“Leeds is a lively, electric, passionate city. The brand is famous worldwide," he said.

“We also bought back the stadium, Elland Road. Potentially the value can reach one billion.

“But first we have to stay in the Premier League for at least three years, then we can also fly to Europe, the goal is obviously to go to the Champions League. Dreaming big is a duty for those who do business.

“Next season we will reach £180-200 million in turnover. Similar to AC Milan.”

Transfer ‘target’ speaks out on future

Tottenham Hotspur youngster and reported Leeds transfer target Juan Foyth has revealed that he dreams of playing in Europe.

The Argentine has been widely linked with a move to Elland Road in the transfer window as Bielsa looks to gear his side up for the Premier League challenge.

When asked about his future, the versatile player noted that he would prefer to stay in a European league which could be a boost for Leeds’ transfer hopes.

He told TYC Sports: “My agent's told me nothing of Boca’s interest, but I told them that my first option is to stay in Europe.

“I don’t think about going back to Argentina. Right now, it is best to stay in Europe. It is what I want and what the club (Tottenham) will surely look for, either with a sale or a loan.

“For my future and because the dream of every player is to be in Europe, the best thing is to stay here and seek continuity.”

Leeds eye £18m transfer ahead of Premier League return

Leeds are reportedly interested in signing highly-rated Stuttgart striker Nicolas Gonzalez this summer.

The Elland Road outfit are preparing for their first season back in the top-flight for more than 15 years and they have joined AC Milan and Inter Milan in the pursuit of Gonzalez, according to Kicker.

Bielsa is believed to be interested in his fellow Argentine who is rated around £18m and widely regarded as a potential option for the Whites to consider.

If the newly-promoted side do sign the 22-year-old, they would have beaten some stiff competition from elsewhere in Europe’s top leagues.
