Leeds United evening headlines as Adama Traore update emerges amid Marcelo Bielsa gesture

Here are your Leeds United evening headlines for Thursday, December 24.

Adama Traore deemed impossible

Kevin Phillips revealed his belief that a move for Adama Traore would be difficult to complete for Leeds.

Traore is reportedly unsettled at Wolves due to his inconsistent playing time. Leeds have been mentioned as a possible landing spot, but Phillips believes that they will struggle to attract Traore, though he adds that such links show the progress the club have made.

"That isn’t ever going to happen and that is no disrespect to Leeds," he told Football Insider. "There will be far bigger clubs looking to sign him. I know Leeds are a big club but they have only just come back into the Premier League.

How does Bielsa react to a 6-2 defeat?

"If Adama Traore was available there would be a host of clubs interested in taking him.

"Look, it is nice that Leeds are linked with these kinds of players because it shows you just how far they have come in the last two years. I would be amazed if that happened."

Bamford reveals touching Bielsa gesture

Patrick Bamford revealed the brilliant Christmas gesture that Marcelo Bielsa hosts for the staff at the club.

In the period of goodwill, Bielsa hosts a raffle that all of the staff at the club can buy a ticket for and win some brilliant prizes.

Speaking to the official Leeds United podcast, he said: "To be fair, Marcelo actually does a raffle draw, everyone gets a ticket with a number on. It's not for the players or the physio staff but the staff around the training ground like the people in the kitchen, the ground staff or in the offices.

"They get a chance to win something. Last year the kit man won a car. It was a Golf or a Fiat or something. I don't know if Marcelo bought it himself but he does the raffle so I'm presuming so.

"Us players don't play any part in it but he does it for the staff to keep them all included. It's really nice. I've never heard of that before so it was brilliant when I saw it."

Bielsa issues Cooper, Llorente injury updates

Diego Llorente is fit and available for selection again after recovering from injury and partaking in training this week.

Meanwhile, Liam Cooper has an abdominal strain after limping off against Manchester United last weekend.

Speaking in his press conference, Bielsa said about Cooper: "Cooper has a strain in his abdominals." He added that a timeframe is "subject to his evolution".

On Llorente, Bielsa said: "Llorente is in conditions to play again."

Llorente's return is most welcome, with Robin Koch facing an extended period on the sidelines after undergoing knee surgery earlier this year.
