Leeds United digest: Milner weighs up return, Casilla scouted, Radrizzani EFL backing

An excerpt from James Milner's new book, published today, was at the top of Wednesday's agenda. We also had a scouting report on just how much Kiko Casilla has improved as well as some possible backing from the EFL for Andrea Radrizzani on the Sky Sports TV money saga.

Here's a look at the latest Leeds United stories.

James Milner sets the record straight on a Leeds United return

James Milner has opened the door on a Leeds United return before he retires, but only if the Whites truly had need for him at Elland Road.

The 33-year-old left his hometown club in July 2004 and has long been looked at by fans as the man they would love to see return before his distinguished, trophy-laden career ends.

In his new book, Ask a Footballer: My Guide to Kicking a Ball About, which is published tomorrow, Milner finally addresses the subject head on, in his own words.

The Champions League winner reveals, predictably given their status, United have never pursued Milner since his exit in 2004.

The inside line on how Casilla has become one the Championship's best

Kiko Casilla signed for Leeds United in January, having made the move from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The stature of his previous club created a degree of expectation on his shoulders when he arrived, but it's reasonable to suggest the 33-year-old failed to match those demands early on.

However, he seems to have settled in England this season, and his performances are capturing that. Casilla has kept seven clean sheets so far from a possible 14 matches, allowing his side to win without scoring excessive amounts of goals.

Marcelo Bielsa's side have won 1-0 three times already this season, with those nine points contributing greatly to the team's current third-placed position.

How do his performances look beneath the surface, though? Let's take a look.

Here's the full story.

Radrizzani allegedly backed by new EFL chief on Sky Sports money

EFL clubs are warming to the governing body’s new chairman Rick Parry, with a report alleging he has accepted the controversial Sky TV deal agreed in November was ‘flawed’.

A group of around 10 club chairmen and CEOs have questioned whether the EFL had the legal authority to sign the £595m five-year deal between the broadcaster and league clubs.

The organisation has previously rejected any suggestion the process of making the Sky deal, or the commercial committee's involvement therein, was in any way questionable. However, OffThePitch now suggests Parry’s approach could be different.
