Leeds United digest: injury boost and blows, Bielsa on Klich drought, Liverpool analysis

Marcelo Bielsa revealed the latest injury news in his camp on Thursday, while he also commented on Matusz Klich's goul drought and how he turned to analysing Liverpool over the weekend.

Here's a look at the latest Leeds United stories.

Leeds handed Hernandez boost - but fresh concerns over key trio

Leeds United look poised to welcome midfield architect Pablo Hernandez back into contention for this weekend's clash with QPR at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon, head coach Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed.

The Spaniard, who joined the Elland Road club back in August 2016, has missed Leeds' last six Championship matches due to a collection of muscle and hamstring issues.

Hernandez was initially sidelined with a muscle problem, forcing him to miss several key games, before suffering a fresh hamstring problem against Birmingham City's Under-23s almost two weeks ago.

Bielsa addresses Klich's lack of goals and hints at 18/19 hangover

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa is backing midfielder Mateusz Klich to soon reach the same levels he experienced last season.

Klich was an integral part of the Whites' promotion tilt last season, netting 10 goals from the centre of midfield, but the Poland international, who joined the Elland Road club from Dutch outfit FC Twente in June 2017, has struggled to rediscover that goal-scoring touch so far this season.

In 15 games in league and cup so far this season, Klich has scored just twice, one of which was against Salford City in the Carabao Cup first round, in comparison to the five he had already claimed by this stage last season.

Marcelo Bielsa reveals Liverpool inspiration to get Leeds United firing

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has revealed that he has paid close attention to Liverpool's attacking qualities in a bid to get his goal-shy Leeds team firing once again.

The Whites, despite their current strong position in the Championship table, have come in for heavy criticism in recent weeks for their lack of goals. After 14 Championship outings so far this term, United have managed just 17 goals - the joint-lowest of the division's current top 10 sides.

To add further fuel to the fire, the Whites have failed to score more than once in each of their last seven games, meaning Bielsa has come in for heavy criticism for his reluctance to swap misfiring striker Patrick Bamford for Arsenal loanee Eddie Nketiah.
