Leeds United digest: Fresh QSI reports, Nketiah hint, referee selected, rivals could lose key player

Leeds United's attention is now firmly on Saturday's Elland Road clash against Blackburn Rovers as Marcelo Bielsa's side look to head into the international break with back-to-back wins.

The Whites currently sit third in the Championship table but can go top this weekend, if results go their way.

Bielsa will face the media to preview Saturday's clash on Thursday lunchtime but ahead of that here is a look at the latest Leeds United stories...

Respected daily sport paper l’Equipe have published the latest, which suggests that PSG owners Qatar Sports Investment (QSI) remain interested in buying the club from its current chairman, Andrea Radrizzani.

Rumours of the interest first emerged over the summer , with suggestions that chairman of QSI and the Middle East based BeIn Media Group, Nasser Al-Khelaifi was to personally discuss a potential takeover with Radrizzani.

Nketiah hint in training video

A new training video posted by Leeds United has provided hints of who is and isn’t available for Blackburn Rovers this weekend.

The footage, posted on LUTV, showed the squad hard at work at Thorp Arch as they prepare for Saturday’s Championship clash.

The most alarming absentee is Eddie Nketiah, who was a surprise omission from Saturday’s 2-0 win over Queens Park Rangers, after he reportedly suffered a lower abdominal problem. Marcelo Bielsa didn’t offer a timescale on his return, but reports have suggested he’ll miss the coming weeks.

Here's the full story.

The match officials have been decided for Leeds United’s Championship clash with Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.Referee Gavin Ward will officiate his first Whites match of the season, and he’s got some history with the club after a controversial decision against Marcelo Bielsa’s side last term.

Ward has been an EFL match official since 2007. The experienced referee doesn’t have a reputation as particularly card-happy, but he’s shown several red cards in games involving Leeds over recent years.
