Leeds United defender Robin Koch endures tough evening as Germany suffer record defeat in Spain

Leeds United centre-back Robin Koch had an evening to forget as his Germany side suffered a 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Spain on Tuesday evening.

The 24-year-old won his seventh cap in the Nations League clash, but it quickly went wrong for Die Mannschaft in Seville, as they found themselves 2-0 down after 33 minutes.

A 37th-minute yellow card followed for Koch, with a third goal coming a minute later.

Does Bielsa enjoy the January transfer window?

The one-way traffic continued in the second half as Manchester City striker Ferran Torres went on to complete a hat-trick as the Spaniard's eased to a 6-0 thrashing of Joachim Low's side.

Koch completed the full 90 minutes in what was Germany's record defeat in a competitive match.

That was the second full match the Leeds man played during the current international break, after he was deployed as a defensive midfielder in the 3-1 win over Ukraine on Saturday.

Leeds' remaining international contingent could be in action tonight in the last batch of international matches until March next year.

Mateusz Klich will be hoping to turn out Poland against the Netherlands, skipper Liam Cooper is in Scotland's squad who play in Israel tonight and Stuart Dallas, who skippered Northern Ireland in Austria on Sunday will be looking to be involved against Romania.

Tyler Roberts' Wales side are at home to Finland this evening, while Gjanni Alioski returned home from North Macedonian duty early with a hamstring problem.

Leeds host Arsenal on Sunday afternoon as they look to snap a two-match Premier League losing streak.
