Leeds United defender Diego Llorente self-isolating as Spain's Euro 2020 preparations rocked

Leeds United defender Diego Llorente and the rest of the Spain Euro 2020 squad are currently isolating after Sergio Busquets tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday morning.

Although Llorente and the rest of the squad have tested negative, the entire 24-man party must now isolate at Spain's Las Rozas headquarters in accordance to Uefa protocols and Spanish health ministry guidelines.

Busquets was taken away from the HQ in medicalised transport and players must now undergo individual sessions, rather than normal team training. Further tests will be carried out.

Spain have had to withdrawal their squad from Tuesday night's final Euro 2020 warm-up friendly against Lithuania, at Leganés’s Butarque Stadium, with the under-21s squad replacing them.

Spain begin their Euro 2020 campaign against Sweden in Seville next Monday. Manager Luis Enrique was the only national team boss not to name a 26-man squad for the tournament following Uefa's rule change which freed up a further three places than the usual 23-man selection.

Llorente came off the bench for Spain's goalless draw against Portugual on Friday night to win his eighth cap for La Roja.

After an injury-hit start to his life at Leeds United following his £18million summer move, Llorente established himself a key member of Marcelo Bielsa's backline which improved greatly at the end of the campaign.
