Leeds United academy graduate Charlie Cresswell has added another chapter to Thorp Arch’s success story with a new contract at Elland Road.
The 18-year-old has signed a new deal which runs until the summer of 2023 after a breakthrough campaign with the Whites.
Cresswell, the son of former United forward Richard, made his professional bow earlier in the season, playing 90 minutes in the Carabao Cup defeat to Hull City.
Furthermore, the teen has become a mainstay at the heart of Mark Jackson’s under-23 outfit playing in Premier League 2.
Playing at the heart of defence, Cresswell has worn the captain’s armband on a number of occasions, including in the recent EFL Trophy loss at Blackpool.
Cresswell’s performances with United have attracted attention from further afield too. The Preston-born stopper has been called up to the England under-19 squad in each of the last two international breaks.
Cresswell’s new contract follows that of Bryce Hosannah which was announced earlier this month.
