Leeds United defender becomes latest youngster to secure first professional deal with club

Leeds United have confirmed that another of their talented youngsters has signed a first professional contract with the club.

Defender Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen has put pen to paper to sign a two-year deal with the Whites, as he commits his future until the summer of 2023.

The 17-year-old last year turned out for the under-18s and also featured for the Premier League 2 Division Two under-23s side and he will now be looking to establish himself as a regular in Mark Jackson's side.

“It’s a great achievement to be at such a great club with such a great history and I’m made up signing my professional contract," Chilokoa-Mullen said after signing his deal.

“I can’t wait to keep working hard and improving, I’m looking forward to making the step up to Under-23s football and I can’t wait for the new season.

“I’m a player who reads the game quite well and I like to defend on the front foot, I want to keep learning under the coaching staff and become a better player in general.”

Chilokoa-Mullen's deal comes after he saw his under-18s team-mates Alfie Hughes and Joe Snowdon also sign professional terms on Friday.

Jackson's under-23s will also be boosted by new signings Amari Miller and Sean McGurk, who joined the club from Birmingham City and Wigan Athletic respectively.
