Leeds United dealt transfer blow via Tottenham, Birmingham City strike club-record bid as £20m offer made for striker Oli McBurnie - Championship transfer rumours

Plenty of transfer rumours continue to float around as the summer deadline approaches next week, and we have gathered some of the latest news below.

Bristol City eye Clark with Webster set to leave

Bristol City are eyeing a deal for Newcastle United defender Ciaran Clarke as they search for a replacement for Adam Webster, who has been subject of a bid from Brighton.

As reported by Bristol Live, an offer from the Seagulls in the region of £25m has been lodged and that could spark a significant domino effect in the final week of the window.

Clark’s move to Bristol would allow Webster to move to Brighton, which in turn would free up Lewis Dunk for a proposed move to Leicester City and, finally, allow Harry Maguire to join Manchester United if his asking price is met.

Leeds issued transfer blow

Leeds United’s hopes of seeing their transfer kitty bolstered by Danny Rose’s sale from Tottenham Hotspur has suffered a blow, as reported by Leeds Live.

The former Elland Road talent has been heavily linked with an exit from North London this summer after missing the club’s pre-season trip to Asia in order to explore transfer options, with Leeds having a clause that would give them 10% of any fee Spurs receive.

However, the England international was back in the starting line-up for Spurs’ clash with Real Madrid in Germany.

Sheffield United ramp up interest in Oli McBurnie

Swansea City are considering their options after receiving an improved offer for Oli McBurnie from Sheffield United.

The £20m offer, by the time you factor in add-ons, could prove to have a serious effect on Swansea's attacking options, with time to find a replacement - should they accept this offer - running out.

Birmingham City make club-record bid

Birmingham City have made a club-record bid for Inter Milan forward George Puscas, according to reports cited by Birmingham Live.

The Romania striker is poised to leave the San Siro this summer and it is claimed that Birmingham have lodged a £6.4m bid in an attempt to bring him to the Championship.

A deal for Puscas would see Birmingham strengthen their ranks in the final third following Che Adams’ move to Southampton earlier in the window.

Hull identify transfer priority

Hull City will not be looking to sign attacking reinforcements ahead of next Thursday’s transfer deadline, boss Grant McCann has stated.

The Tigers have so far signed five new players this summer, including Tom Eaves and Josh Bowler, and will not look for any more additions in the final third, as long as there are no further outgoings.

Instead, Hull are looking to bring in a new defender and a new central midfielder ahead of the transfer deadline.

Everton youngster to join Wigan Athletic

Everton have agreed a deal to sell young midfielder Joe Williams to Wigan Athletic, with the Liverpool Echo reporting he will finalise personal terms and put pen to paper on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old impressed with Bolton Wanderers last season on loan despite the club’s relegation to the third-tier and has attracted interest from a number of EFL sides, as well as some in Germany.

However, a breakthrough between the Toffees and the Latics has been reached, with Williams set to sign ahead of the EFL kick-off this weekend.
