Leeds United confirm Yosuke Ideguchi has rejoined Gamba Osaka on permanent deal

Leeds United have confirmed that Japanese midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi has rejoined Gamba Osaka on a permanent deal.

The 22-year-old joined Leeds in January 2018 for an undisclosed fee and was instantly loaned out to Spanish side Cultural Leonesa, where he struggled to make much of an impression.

After returning for Leeds' pre-season campaign last summer he was sent to German side Greuther Furth on loan for the season, but this spell was hit by injury, with the Japan international suffering a posterior crutiate ligament injury, restricting him to just seven appearances.

With little prospect of breaking into Marcelo Bielsa's first-team squad this season, the club have now let the midfielder rejoin his former side for an undisclosed fee as the club's clear-out of fringe players continues, with more than a dozen players leaving the club this summer.

The transfer window closes on Thursday at 5pm.
