Leeds United confirm second permanent departure of the summer as striker ends Elland Road spell

Leeds United have confirmed that Spanish forward Rafa Mujica has left the club on a permanent basis to join Las Palmas.

The 22-year-old departs for the La Liga 2 side for an undisclosed fee and ends a two-year spell at Elland Road in which he failed to make a senior appearance.

Mujica joined Leeds from Barcelona as a Spain under-19s international on a three-year deal at the start of July 2019, with the intention to link up with the club's under-23s side, then coached by Carlos Corberan.

After an appearance as a second-half substitute at York City in a pre-season friendly, Mujica then joined Extremadura on a one-year loan deal, but returned to Yorkshire the following January.

A spell with Villarreal's B team followed that season, before he headed out on loan again to Real Oviedo at the start of the 2020-21 campaign.

Once again, his spell away was cut short and he spent the second half of last term at Las Palmas, with the Gran Canaria side now completing a permanent move for the forward.
