Leeds United have bolstered their under-23 ranks yet again this summer with the free transfer of Dutch goalkeeper Dani van den Heuvel.
The 17-year-old turned down the offer of a new contract with Dutch giants Ajax earlier this year and has now agreed terms at Elland Road on a three-year contract to 2023.
van den Heuvel is the fourth youth prospect to arrive at United in quick succession following the signatures of Charlie Allen, Cody Drameh and Joe Gelhardt.
The teen stopper is not the first goalkeeper to arrive at Thorp Arch in 2020 either. Eighteen-year-old Elia Caprile arrived from Italy in January. They will now battle it out for under-23 starts between the sticks.
Marcelo Bielsa will also want under-23 match time for his first-team understudy, whether that be Illan Meslier or Kiko Casilla, once the season gets underway.
Will Huffer has departed the Whites, while Kamil Miazek’s future remains up in the air. The Pole was not in the footage the club released from the first day of pre-season last week.
