Leeds United confirm first exit of January transfer window

Leeds United have confirmed their first exit of the January transfer window with Lewie Coyle’s move to Fleetwood Town made permanent.

A club statement said: “Leeds United can confirm defender Lewie Coyle has today joined League One side Fleetwood Town for an undisclosed fee.

Coyle has been on loan with the Cod Army since 2017 and has now completed a permanent move to Highbury Stadium.

“The full-back came through the Leeds United academy system and broke into the first team, making his debut against Nottingham Forest in 2015.

“In total, he went on to make 23 appearances for the club, with his last coming on the final day of the 2016/17 season against Wigan Athletic.

“We thank Lewie for his efforts whilst at the club and wish him all the best for the future.”
