Leeds United confirm Charlie Allen signing in three-year deal

Newly-promoted Premier League outfit Leeds United have confirmed the signing of Linfield teenager Charlie Allen.

The highly-rated 16-year-old forward has made his move to Elland Road after impressing for the Blues.

The Northern Ireland under-17 international joins Leeds on a three-year scholarship where he will initially link up with the club's academy.

Allen's deal will run until the summer of 2023.

Allen rose through the ranks at Linfield, starring for the Windsor Park cub's academy before making senior appearances under David Healy.

He became Linfield's youngest-ever player when he made his debut as a 15-year-old in April 2019.

Speaking last year, Healy hailed the talented youngster when he said: "He's still young, developing and has a lot to learn, but I know, in time, Charlie won't see his 17th or 18th birthday at Linfield.

"He will be elsewhere. Our plan is to guide him the best way for the next 12 months when he is here.

"He is still at school and hopefully when he does go he will make the right choices and have an incredible full-time career."
