Leeds United close to confirming first signing of Daniel Farke era as 51-goal striker 'deal agreed'

Leeds United are closing in on their first signing of the Daniel Farke era with Aberdeen's Lewis Pirie all set to move to Elland Road. It' a deal in truth that the new Whites manager is likely to know little about, as Leeds look to complete a transfer pursuit that stems back to last season.

Farke may not have been aware the deal was happening until his arrival this week, but he's sure to be delighted with the acquisition of a player regarded as one of the best teenage prospects in Scotland. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, a deal has been agreed on a £200,000 move for the 16-year-old Scottish striker.

Pirie is definitely one for the future and follows a number of similar deals in recent years, with the Whites continuing their philosophy of investing in youth with an eye to future first team stardom. How far Pirie remains off the first team remains to be seen.

A member of Aberdeen's youth team since 2020, rumours over Pirie's future have been ongoing for the best part of six months due to the teenager's sensational form for Aberdeen's youth side and Scotland under-16s, where he finished with 51 goals for club and country last season.

Leeds are understood to have beaten the likes of Celtic, Crystal Palace, Sheffield United and Everton to his signature, with the youngster agreeing a three-year deal.
