Leeds United Christmas Day activity reveals players who have escaped COVID isolation

It seemed as though Leeds United might see out their Christmas fixtures without delay due to their 100% vaccination uptake, despite COVID chaos causing havoc among other Premier League squads.

However, on December 23rd, Leeds were successful with their request to the league, asking for Boxing Day's trip to Anfield to be postponed due to rising COVID cases in the squad.

Leeds revealed that their unlucky positives were all asymptomatic, but nevertheless that meant they would not be able to partake on the day after Christmas, as they entered a seven-day minimum isolation period.

As festivities took place throughout West Yorkshire, Leeds players invited family and friends to their respective residences to celebrate the holiday season.

That is, those who have not been forced into an unfortunate isolation period.

It is reasonable to assume that with the stringent measures Leeds players follow when it comes to public health, no member of Marcelo Bielsa's squad will have hosted or shared on social media pictures of mass gatherings if they were one of the positive cases.

U23s midfielder Lewis Bate shared a picture on Instagram with a relative at what appeared to be a separate venue to his residence.

Meanwhile, Raphinha and Rodrigo shared images of the pair with their extended families at a property in West Yorkshire on Christmas Eve.

Tyler Roberts also took to social media late on Christmas Day, posting a picture with what appeared to be three family members around the dinner table, while Jack Harrison and his partner also appeared to be enjoying the festivities.

While there is no guarantee the aforementioned players are among the individuals within the squad who returned negative results in the last round of mandatory testing at Thorp Arch, it would be an educated guess to assume as such.

Due to the club's vaccination policy, players suffering from the illness are hoped to have only had minor symptoms, if at all.

As it stands, Leeds' next fixture is at home to Aston Villa on December 28th, however further positive cases, or too many players still in their isolation period will mean that game is also at risk of postponement.
