Leeds United charged by the FA after Chelsea incident during Premier League defeat

Leeds United have been charged with failing to control their players following an incident in their 3-2 defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.

Three penalties were awarded on the day, with Raphinha scoring the first in the 28th minute before Jorginho slotted home a second-half double from 12 yards to secure all three points for the Blues.

However, it was the last of those penalties that gained the most attention.

A number of Marcelo Bielsea's players reacted furiously when Chris Kavanagh awarded a spot-kick after Antonio Rudiger appeared to be brought down by Mateusz Klich in the area.

Jorginho converted his second penalty of the day to secure a late win for Thomas Tuchel's team, who remain third in the table, two points behind leaders Manchester City and one behind second-placed Liverpool.

The FA said in a statement, via Sky Sports: "Leeds United FC has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E20.1 after its Premier League match against Chelsea FC on Saturday.

"It is alleged that Leeds United FC failed to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion when they surrounded the match referee in the 93rd minute."

Leeds have been given until Thursday to respond to the charge.

Bielsa's team had five players booked during the fixture, and the game ended with a heated scuffle between Rudiger and several Leeds players after the whistle had blown.

They now have the worst disciplinary record in England's top division, and seven of their players are one booking away from suspension heading towards the busy Christmas schedule.
