Leeds United captain Liam Cooper's class act in bid to raise funds for Rob Burrow

Leeds United's Liam Cooper has shown his support for Leeds Rhinos legend Rob Burrow, donating a shirt to raise funds for the 37-year-old.

Burrow was recently diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) and emotional interviews with the media last week sent shockwaves through the sporting community here in Leeds and across the country.

While the fundraising effort for Rob and his family has now surpassed £150,000, Liam Cooper has joined the effort to raise much-needed funds.

Cooper will sign the shirt he wore during Leeds United's 2-1 defeat at Fulham on Saturday, with the club setting up a raffle for fans to win it and give donations to Burrow's cause.

The Whites captain tweeted: "Everyone please donate £5 and share. A winner will be picked from the donations list on New Years Eve. Can be signed in anyway you wish."

Already the £1000 target has been beaten, with over £1,500 raised in the short time since the raffle went live.

You can enter the raffle and donate by clicking here .

Also, donate directly to the fund via the Virgin Money Giving page .
