Leeds United can sign the next France wonderkid by beating Celtic to summer transfer

Leeds United are reportedly plotting a move for another Reading midfielder this summer.

As has been widely reported, the Whites are are keen on Royals star John Swift but face competition from Sheffield United.

Football Insider now claim that Leeds have identified Swifts' Royals teammate Michael Olise as a potential target.

The highly-rated 18-year-old had stints in Chelsea and Manchester City's youth systems before eventually coming through the ranks at Reading.

He has represented France at youth level, winning a call-up to last year's edition of the highly prestigious Toulon Tournament.

Olise made his Royals debut against Leeds late last season and has so far made 27 appearances in all competitions.

The central midfielder, who can also play in a more forward attacking role, is one of Reading's most prized assets.

Yet the coronavirus crisis has led some to speculate that players may be available cheaply at the Madejski Stadium this summer, particularly with Reading being one of the lowest spenders in the Championship.

Olise has two years left on his contract at Reading.

The midfielder has often started in a central role for the Royals this season but has been given the freedom to drift wide in order to find space.

That means he also has the ability to play on the wings.

Left-footed, Olise has the ability to command the ball and spray passes to strikers from an attacking midfield position.

Reports linked the youngster to Celtic earlier this summer.

Parkhead operations chief Nicky Hammond used to be Reading's director of football and knows Olise well.
