Leeds United and Nottingham Forest tipped for promotion blows with Bristol City to miss out on play-offs

Bristol City have been tipped to slump to a mid-table finish this season following their back-to-back defeats.

The Robins have suffered defeats to Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion, which has seen them slip to three points off sixth-placed Preston North End in the race for the play-offs.

Yet a new prediction by Football Web Pages suggests that their form is only going to get worse.

The Robins are predicted to finish 10th, six points off the play-offs after a winless run that will stretch into April.

City are predicted to draw with Huddersfield Town tomorrow evening before losing to Millwall at the weekend.

The Robins then kick-off March with a point at home to Fulham, but defeats against Blackburn Rovers and Nottingham Forest, combined with a draw with Sheffield Wednesday would see them go through the whole month without a win.

City would eventually get back to winning ways against Cardiff City on April 4, but are tipped to win just two more games after this - against Stoke City and Preston North End.

Elsewhere, West Brom have been tipped to storm to the title, finishing 13 points ahead of Brentford in second.

The Bees would finish level on points with Leeds United but pip them to promotion courtesy of a better goal difference.

Blackburn Rovers would sneak into the play-off spots, finishing sixth and playing Leeds in the play-offs.

The other play-off match would be between Nottingham Forest and Fulham.

Preston and Millwall would both narrowly miss out on the play-offs.

At the other end of the table, Barnsley, Luton Town and Wigan Athletic would all be relegated, with Stoke City narrowly avoiding the drop.

How it works

The prediction works by a computer predicting a percentage likelihood of every result for the rest of the season.

That subsequently calculates the chances of a home win, draw or away win for the rest of the campaign, with the results being fed into a predicted table.
