Leeds United and Liverpool go head to head for starlet, Aston Villa target left out of pre-season plans as Cardiff City eye £1million striker - Championship reports

The latest transfer news from the Championship and beyond...

Maupay interest reaches new level

Brentford striker Neal Maupay has been left out of pre-season preparations again following more interest from Premier League suitors.

Newly-promoted Aston Villa and Sheffield United have reportedly been in a race to sign the target man all summer, prompting the Brentford boss to leave him out of the squad.

Now, it’s happened again, and Birmingham Live reports suggest that this could mean he’s on the verge of a move to the Premier League.

Brophy on Cardiff radar

Kilmarnock striker Eamonn Brophy is a target for Cardiff City as the Daily Mail suggest the Welsh club look set to make a £1 million bid.

The 23-year-old has been making waves since the start of last season, quickly turning heads with his performances for Kilmarnock and earning call-ups to the Scottish national team.

After letting go of striker Kenneth Zohore, Brophy would be an ideal replacement with a proven goalscoring record.

Derby look to sign Watford keeper

According to Football Insider, Shay Given has suggested Derby sign Watford keeper Daniel Bachmann in their quest for a new shot stopper.

Bachmann, who failed to make a single appearance for Watford the whole of last campaign, could be an ideal addition to a squad desperately in need of goalkeeping backup.

The Austrian signed for Watford last season but only appeared on the matchday team-sheet nine times all season.

Fulham complete signing of Brighton forward

Brighton forward Anthony Knockaert looks set to complete a loan move to Championship side Fulham with an option of making the transfer permanent next summer.

Leicestershire Live claim the Frenchman is set to undergo a medical at Craven Cottage this afternoon.

Reports suggest that the London club could keep Knockaert for a fee of £10 million, provided that they win promotion to the Premier League.

Leeds and Liverpool go head to head

According to Football Insider, Leeds United and Liverpool agre going head to head for Enzo Valentim from Reims II.

The 18-year-old defender is hot property, with Stoke City also keeping tabs on him.

Game-time would be easier to come by at Elland Road rather than Anfield, which could be a factor in any transfer decision.
