Leeds United and Aston Villa fans will love Football Manager prediction on Championship

The Championship is still wide open with five games left until the end of the season.

Automatic promotion to the Premier League is still up for grabs for the likes of Norwich City, Leeds United and Sheffield United, while the five teams below them are all battling for the top six.

The relegation scrap is heating up as well down at the bottom of the table but who is going to finish where at the end of the campaign?

Football Manager have done their best to find out the answers by simulating the remaining fixtures to see who could be celebrating next month.

These were the findings, courtesy of FM:

Daniel Farke’s Norwich are crowned the champions after an impressive campaign that earns them a return to the top flight after an absence of three seasons.

The Canaries seal the deal by remaining unbeaten across their final five fixtures to finish eight points clear of the chasing pack.

Leeds United’s expected starting line-up for the visit of Sheffield Wednesday

Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds edge out their Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United after picking up eight points from their last five games.

Joining Sheffield United in the playoffs are West Bromwich Albion, Bristol City and Aston Villa, the latter squeezing in at Derby County’s expense.

West Brom can be considered the form team heading into the play-offs after racking up three wins from their five remaining fixtures.

At the bottom of the table Bolton, Ipswich and Rotherham are unable to haul themselves out of the relegation zone and will be playing in Sky Bet League One next season.

Ipswich pick up towards the end but remain rooted to the bottom spot.

Elsewhere, in League One, Luton Town and Sunderland will win promotion to the Championship.

The teams contesting the playoffs are Portsmouth, Barnsley, Charlton and Doncaster.
