Leeds United and Aston Villa fans unite over England video, Llorente suffers injury setback

Good morning, Leeds United fans. Here is your morning digest for Wednesday, October 13.

Leeds and Villa fans in agreement over Phillips and Grealish video

Leeds United and Aston Villa fans toasted the success of their academy graduates after Kalvin Phillips and Jack Grealish were pictured together on England duty.

The two have helped their respective clubs earn promotion to the Premier League over the past two seasons and have become firm fan favourites along the way.

Phillips was a substitute in the 2-1 win over Belgium at the weekend while Grealish impressed against Wales last Thursday. Both will be hoping to play a part against Denmark tonight.

The duo were once rivals while battling for promotion, but now they are teammates for England and that saw fans unite for a moment of shared appreciation.

Latest injury news as Llorente is set for spell on sidelines

The international break came an inopportune moment for Leeds.

Marcelo Bielsa's side had recorded an impressive 1-1 draw with Manchester City and were unbeaten in three Premier League games after wins over Sheffield United and Fulham.

Momentum was building, but that may have been halted, especially as two defenders have picked up injuries while representing their countries.

Defenders Liam Cooper and Diego Llorente have returned to Thorp Arch from international duty with groin issues, and full updates on their fitness, and that of the rest of the Whites' squad, can be found here.

Wolves' players not impacted by Ronaldo's positive Covid test

Wolverhampton Wanderers' five Portugal internationals have all returned negative Covid-19 tests in the wake of Cristiano Ronaldo's positive result.

The Juventus striker tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday and was sent away from the Portugal squad in order to self-isolate.

Any fears that Leeds' Premier League clash with Wolves next Monday could be in jeopardy were quickly quashed, though, with the country's football federation confirming the rest of the Portugal squad had tested negative following for former Real Madrid star's diagnosis.
