Leeds United already facing a possible 2021/22 Premier League fixture postponement

Leeds United may already be facing up to one postponement in their new set of Premier League fixtures.

As it stands, television rearrangements aside, the Whites will visit Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on December 11 for their first meeting of the season.

However, after winning the Champions League last month, the London giants will be expected to participate in the 2021 FIFA Club World Cup.

The competition, which takes in the winners of the world’s six continental confederations, as well as the host nation’s league champions, is scheduled for December.

Specific dates on when in December the competition will take place in Japan have not been announced as yet, but it could yet mean a rearranged capital trip for the Whites.

United face a tricky December around the Chelsea match, with Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool to follow before 2021 ends.

Leeds visited Chelsea in December last season too when 2,000 fans were allowed into the ground to watch a defeat for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
