Leeds United ace returns to Thorp Arch training ground amid coronavirus lockdown

Leeds United’s training ground remains open to first-team players at least as Barry Douglas showed up on Saturday morning for a session during the coronavirus lockdown.

Thorp Arch was closed to the club’s women and academy sides on March 8 as the threat of coronavirus grew before this week the club’s first team was given similar instructions.

Players were given training programmes, suggested menus and exercise equipment this week in order for them to do most of their training at home.

However, Thorp Arch remains a venue players may use for some training, given it is isolated and regularly cleaned to a high standard.

Douglas took to his Instagram page on Saturday morning with an update from the outdoor running track at the training ground.

A number of the team have taken to social media with clips of their training regimes at home, but this was the first clip of a senior face still using Thorp Arch.

While the coronavirus measures ramp up around the country and the players spend most of their time away from Thorp Arch, they must still weigh in and send over their statistics to club coaching and medical staff.
