Leeds United ace Kalvin Phillips responds to Tottenham Hotspur transfer link

Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has dealt a blow to Tottenham’s transfer plans by declaring he never wants to leave the Whites.

Phillips has been linked with a move to Tottenham ahead of the summer transfer window after impressing for Leeds in the Championship this season.

The 24-year-old has started 31 games for Marcelo Bielsa's men in the Championship so far this season, with Leeds currently sitting top of the table and seven points ahead of third-placed Fulham with nine games to play.

Jose Mourinho has reportedly been keeping tabs on the Leeds midfielder, but the player’s latest admission suggests Spurs will struggle to prise him away this summer.

Tottenham: The season so far

“I want to spend my career at Leeds and see the club doing well in the Premier League,” he told FourFourTwo magazine, as reported by The Express .

“I’m just enjoying every minute right now.”

Phillips started his career at Leeds and made his debut for the Yorkshire club in 2015.

He has since gone on to play 173 times for the Elland Road side in all competitions, scoring 11 goals for the Whites.

The defensive midfielder has previously been linked with a move away from Leeds amid interest from Aston Villa last summer, while it has been reported that England boss Gareth Southgate has watched Phillips ahead of a potential call-up to the senior squad.
