Leeds train station store stands empty following Fat Face closure

A store in Leeds train station remains empty following the closure of fashion store Fat Face.

Based close to the Sainsbury's store at the bottom of the station, the store closed a little while ago, and work has now started to clear the space.

It is not clear yet what will replace the store, with a major revamp of the station well underway.

The main concourse already looks significantly different, with a new roof allowing light into the station.

Major works started on the big project in December 2018 as scaffolding was erected and big, blue boxes were plonked in the middle of the walkway of the main entrance. The electronic departure boards were also taken down and replaced with smaller screens.

The £161m revamp will also see a new platform built, among other changes.
