Leeds told to expect heavy rain as weather warning is issued

People in Leeds are being told to prepare for heavy rain.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain, which will be in effect between 12.15am and 8pm on Sunday, September 21.

The forecaster says there is a high chance that it will rain over a 12-hour period - from 8am to 8pm.

It also says the weather will be "generally very warm" with temperatures of up to 22°C and there is a chance of heavy rain and thunderstorms.

The weather warning states: "Although some places will stay dry, heavy rain may cause some localised flooding and travel disruption.

"Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely."

It expects the wet weather to cause disruption on roads and railways across the west of England.
