Good morning Leeds.
Hope you're looking forward to the fireworks tonight!
It may only be bonfire night - but a farm on the outskirts on East Leeds is already looking towards Christmas dinner and is inviting its customers to come and meet the Christmas turkeys before they are slaughtered. Swillington Organic Farm is putting on the special farm walk to encourage people to get more involved in learning about local food.
Tomorrow's 'meet the Christmas dinner' walk, which starts at 11am, will see the farmer Jo Cartwright show local customers around her 150-acre organic farm. They will be able to see the turkeys, ducks, geese and chickens that she rears free range for Christmas and have their questions about poultry production answered. The walk will also include a tour of the less picturesque side of meat production; the poultry slaughter and butchery facilities on the farm.
