Leeds today - Kirkstall Online's happy 10th and Legionella at the LGI

Good morning Leeds.

Today I'll be looking at plans by pro-Palestine campaigners to picket a Joe Lydon gig in Leeds this week and angry traders have hit out at the disruption caused by work to their historic city centre arcade.


Here's what's making Leeds tick today

A campaign to save a Leeds-based New Zealander from deportation gathered pace as a 2,000 name petition was handed to his local MP, reports the YEP.

Legionella bacteria has been found in the water system at a Leeds hospital, reports the BBC. The bacteria was discovered during routine tests in pipe work in a small part of the Clarendon Wing at Leeds General Infirmary. The NHS said no one had contracted the disease and work was taking place to contain the bacteria, which causes Legionnaire's Disease.

As part of national ride to work day bikers in Leeds can take advantage of a free bacon butty and a brew on their way in to work whilst picking up some road safety tips, reports Leeds council.
