Leeds today: Holt Park graffiti, Middleton's £1.6m enterprise and clandestine cakes

Good morning, Leeds.

A whole raft of council cuts are set to discussed at next week's meeting of Leeds council's exectuive board. I've got an overview piece which I'll be filing shortly.

Also today, I'm looking at the latest on the future of libraries in Leeds and six leisure centre creches which are threatened with closure.

Oh, and there's the third tuition fees protest by Leeds students, which starts at noon outside Leeds Metropolitan University Union.

What's making Leeds tick today?

An historic printing works in Hunslet could be partially demolished and transformed into office space, reports the Yorkshire Post.

An outbreak of offensive graffiti has emerged in Holt Park, reports community blog Holt Park Today.

People found persistently sleeping rough on the city centre streets of Leeds are being prosecuted by police, reports BBC Leeds.

New community blog South Leeds Life reports that building work has just started on a £1.6 million enterprise centre in Middleton. It will provide office and meeting room facilities for new and established enterprises and a hot desk facility for budding entrepreneurs within the local community.
