Good morning Leeds.
A new hyperlocal website dedicated to the Holt Park area of Leeds has been set up and launched this week by local residents Luke and Joel Beaumont. HoltParkToday.com features a wide range of community news, ranging from the latest on the Leeds Trolleybus scheme to the suspension of local bus stops and a rise in burglaries in the area.
Luke attended the Talk About Local Guardian Unconference at Old Broadcasting House in Woodhouse Lane earlier this year, which aimed to encourage local people to set up blogs about their communities.
Today on my blog, I'll be looking at a petition which has been set up to convince the government not to cut Leeds trolleybus funding, I'll be looking at the latest surrounding the Leeds Kirkgate Market campaign and there's also a preview of a big meeting in Beeston about plans for the community to take over a sports centre.
Oh, and I'll also be looking at a major consultation over council plans to implement new dog control orders in a bid to tackle problems with fouling and poor behaviour.
Tonight I'll be attending a Little Woodhouse Community Forum meeting at 7pm in the Civic Hall, with councillor Penny Ewens in the chair. Topics include planning, Streetscene, police, lighting and housing issues.
