Leeds will be warmer than Benidorm and Barcelona this week when the city sees the hottest day of the year so far.
The Met Office says people in West Yorkshire can expect clear skies, bright sunshine and temperatures of around 26°C on Wednesday, May 20.
However, the government is still urging people to remain indoors as much as possible and avoid making unnecessary journeys and attending social gatherings, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Matthew Box, a Met Officer forecaster, said: "It's going to be very hot for large parts of England for most of the week, reaching highs of 27C on Wednesday, which would make it the hottest day of the year so far.
"This will occur due to large areas of high pressure, combined with southerly winds from the continent, bringing with it, pleasant sunshine, dry skies and warmer air."
But according to the forecast, temperatures will drop slightly on Thursday, May 21 and Leeds will see cloudy conditions.
