Leeds team news and injury updates for their clash with Everton at Goodison Park

Leeds ended their losing run by drawing with Arsenal last Sunday although they were still disappointed because they created enough chances to win.

Everton will pose a different challenge at Goodison in this first-ever meeting between coaching luminaries Marcelo Bielsa and Carlo Ancelotti.

Leeds have been boosted by Bielsa's nomination for the FIFA's men coach of the year for his achievment in winning the Championship last season.

Leeds have injury issues and they are still without Pablo Hernandez, Diego Llorente and Jamie Shackleton.

Long-term absentee Adam Forshaw is still missing and Bielsa has not given a recent update on his expected return.

Injury: groin strain

Expected return date: December

Llorente is still out after he sustained a recurrence of his injury as he neared full fitness.

Bielsa says his fresh problem has set him back some time and has not set a date for his return.

The defender is working on his fitness at Thorp Arch and hopes to be available soon.

The centre-half suffered his groin injury with Spain during the international break in October and has still not made his Leeds debut.

Injury: muscle problem

Expected return date: December

Pablo Hernandez again misses out because of a muscle injury.

Bielsa dropped him from his squad for the defeat at Crystal Palace before the last international break because he kicked a water bottle in frustration when he took him off in the previous game against Leicester.

Hernandez apologised on social media and was due to return before he picked up the muscle injury in training last week.

Bielsa said: “Pablo, Shackleton and Llorente are still not available, but the rest of the squad are.”
