Leeds suburb rocked by body discovery, serious crash and reports of stabbing in one weekend

An east Leeds suburb has become the epicentre of police investigations this weekend following a crash, an alleged stabbing and the discovery of a body.

All three tragic incidents, which are not believed to be linked, took place between January 30 and 31 in Halton and the nearby Halton Moor.

On Saturday evening, January 30, firefighters were called to Temple Newsam Road after a car crashed into a tree, leaving the passengers trapped inside the vehicle.

Once they were cut out of the car, they were rushed to hospital for treatment.

A few hours later, on the morning of January 31, someone was allegedly stabbed near Selby Road in Halton Moor.

Although West Yorkshire Police have not confirmed this, a number of eyewitnesses have claimed a man was stabbed.

A large cordon remains in place on Cartmell Drive, with officers standing at the perimeter of the scene on Selby Road.

Less than two hours later, at 9.50am, police were called after reports of a body found in Temple Newsam Park.
