Leeds store named '420' raided by police during suspected drugs operation

Police have stormed a business called '420' as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drugs offences.

Officers executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act on 420 Bags & Accessories, in New Wortley, at around 8am on Thursday, May 9 - roughly a mile away from a similar raid at an industrial unit in Armley at the same time.

Shutters and a broken window could be seen lying on the pavement outside the shop, which sits on the junction of Tong Road and Grasmere Road.

420 is the name given to April 20 - a day when cannabis protesters across the world smoke the class B drug to campaign for it be made legal.

This drone footage over Woodhouse Moor in Hyde Park shows hundreds of people taking part in the Leeds protest last month.

Cocaine, Class A drugs and thousands of pounds recovered in targeted drugs raids in Leeds

It is not yet known whether any drugs were found at the 420 store and the police investigation remains ongoing.
