Leeds star fires Arsenal warning as Mikel Arteta told to fear Liverpool and Chelsea examples

Junior Firpo has warned Arsenal that they will need to make 'unbelievable actions' in order to defeat Leeds United. The Gunners are set to welcome the Yorkshire-based side to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, April 1, as Mikel Arteta looks to defend his side's place at the top of the Premier League.

Leeds have enjoyed wins over Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham this season and Firpo has revealed that the Whites intend on repeating their 'big team' game plan against the Gunners. Arsenal walked away from Elland Road 1-0 victors in October thanks to a strike from Bukayo Saka in the first-half.

However, Patrick Bamford missed a penalty in the second-half and Firpo was an unused substitute. Speaking on The Official Leeds United Podcast, the defender explained how particular results have instilled confidence in the squad to overcome Mikel Arteta's side.

"No fear, we have proven against the big teams we play amazing," Firpo said. "Always, we play amazing against big teams. The only game against the top-six that we didn't is against Man City at home.

"After that we beat Liverpool, we beat Chelsea, we played a good game at Stamford Bridge, we played a really good game against Tottenham. At home against Arsenal we did an amazing game as well, so no fear.

"We will go for the three points," the Spaniard added. "Those games, usually, the big teams say: 'We don't need to rush, just play until they get tired, someone will not make the run that they need to cover the space and we will take advantage'.

"But in our team, that doesn't happen - we run for the entire game. They will need to make unbelievable actions if they want to beat us."

Firpo's battle cry comes just days after Arteta signalled his intent to return to winning ways against Leeds after the international break. Following Arsenal's 4-1 win over Crystal Palace, the Gunners boss said: "[I ask] that they really look after themselves in this period.

"We will look after the players that are with us here. [I ask] that they come back with the same mindset and hunger from before to go into Leeds which is the only important game right now. We know it."
