Leeds schoolboy, 14, rushed to hospital after being deliberately run over by car

A 14-year-old boy has been injured after he was deliberately run over by a grey Seat Leon car in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police received reports yesterday (Monday) at 3.29pm of three males that had been seen running in East Street in the city centre - one of which was carrying a large knife.

However, they received another call at 3.31pm that a male had been run over by a grey Seat Leon at the junction of Flax Place and Railway Street.

Officers attending the scene found the teenage boy, 14, with a fractured ankle, he was taken to hospital for treatment. A spokesperson for the force added that his injuries are not life threatening.

A scene was put in place to undergo forensic examination but was removed at about 7pm.

Detectives from Leeds District CID are continuing enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

Anyone who witnessed any part of the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact detectives via 101 quoting crime reference 13220180236 or online.
