Leeds Saturday and Sunday weather forecast as heatwave cools down

Temperatures in Leeds soared to 33 degrees on Friday (July 31), as the country got caught in the midst of a heatwave.

Those high temperatures may be short lived - but the weather is still looking beautiful for the rest of the weekend and beyond.

Well, almost: Friday evening will see the sunny skies covered with clouds and a 50% chance of Thunderstorms, according to the Met Office.

But after that, the weather will be glorious.

Saturday, August 1

There will be clouds in the sky most of the day on Saturday, with the exception of a glorious two hour stretch on Saturday morning (8am - 10am) when clouds will be clear and temperatures hit a peak of 19 degrees.

Clouds start to come back from 10am, but temperatures continue to soar, eventually hitting a peak of 22 degrees at 1pm.

Temperatures will then stay above 20 degrees until 7pm, hitting a low of 14 by midnight.

Sunday, August 2

On Sunday, temperatures will remain in the high teens, hitting a peak of 19 in the early afternoon, around 2pm.

Between 10am and 4pm there is a ten per cent chance of rain, according to the Met office, while the sky will be cloudy all day.

So it'll still be hot, but not as hot as the days before - time for everybody to cool down a bit.

Next week

Temperatures on Monday and Tuesday will be near identical to Sunday, hitting highs in the mid teens.

But from Wednesday (August 5), things will start heating back up again.

Temperatures will hit highs of 22 degrees on Wednesday afternoon, climbing to peaks of 23 just a day later.

However, another site (Accuweather) predicts that showers will be expected every day from Saturday (August 1) to Wednesday (August 5), something the Met office predicts has a less than five per cent chance of happening.

The weather will remain consistently high by next weekend, with expected temperatures of 26 on Friday and 27 on Saturday.
