Leeds Rhinos' teenage star lands new player agent

Young Leeds Rhinos star Max Simpson has joined the stable of one of rugby league's leading player agents.

Simpson, 17, signed his first professional contract with the Rhinos late last year, putting pen-to-paper on a four-year deal.

Now, he has joined Show Me The Money, the player agency headed by renowned player agent Craig Harrison.

Harrison, who was the agent for Danny McGuire throughout his legendary playing career at Headingley, has a number of Leeds players on his roster including Jack Walker, Liam Sutcliffe and Cameron Smith.

He also helped broker the deal that saw the Rhinos capture James Bentley from Super League champions St Helens ahead of the 2022 campaign.

Simpson has been tipped for a bright future in the game and is eventually expected to compete for a first-team place with the likes of Harry Newman, Sutcliffe and Jack Broadbent.

Still only a teenager, the former Kippax Junior has been a part of the Yorkshire Origin squad and scored six tries in seven Academy appearances last season.

A centre, Simpson has been handed the number 28 jersey for the 2022 season.
