Leeds Rhinos set for double selection boost ahead of Salford Red Devils clash

Leeds Rhinos winger Ash Handley and forward Zane Tetevano and are in line for a return against Salford Red Devils on Friday.

Tetevano has been sidelined in recent weeks after contracting Covid while Handley has also been absent due to having to isolate.

Yet both men trained with Richard Agar’s squad on Monday, encouraging hopes they will be available to face Salford this week.

Handley missed a number of games after suffering a concussion on his England debut and then was stood down for the home game against Catalans after a close contact had a positive Covid 19 test.

He had to isolate for ten days but is now able to fully train with his team-mates again.

The homegrown wideman said: “I’m really looking forward to getting back out there this week.

“It’s been quite frustrating for me in the past couple of weeks because I’ve not had any consistency, playing-wise.

“I can’t remember the last time I had a full week’s training, so I’m looking forward to getting back into a normal life and playing again.”

Handley believes the Rhinos will benefit from having a big crowd back inside Headingley as they bid to bounce back from two defeats against the Dragons.

He added: “I’m looking forward to getting back out there, especially with all the fans back in the ground.

“I love it when the fans are in there and I think it makes it a better game.

“It makes me play better and I’m looking forward to them being our extra man, so hopefully we can get back to winning ways.”
