Leeds Rhinos player ratings as Konrad Hurrell and youngsters impress in Wakefield Trinity win

Jack Broadbent: The young full-back was solid enough and always looks to get involved but the ball often died with him close to the line, particularly in the first half. 6

Luke Briscoe: Tried hard but was caught out with the rest of the right edge for Wakefield’s opening try and lost the ball going for a spectacular finish before giving away a late penalty that allowed Trinity to level it up. 5

Konrad Hurrell: Ran with intent throughout, scoring a crucial try in the second half and coming up with a huge run in golden point to give Rhyse Martin the chance to win it for Leeds Rhinos. 7

Tom Briscoe: Played out of position but did not look out of place up against a strong centre in Reece Lyne. 6

Ash Handley: His error led to Mason Lino’s try and he just could not get into the game. 5

Liam Sutcliffe: The utility man is being asked to do a job for his side but did not look comfortable with his passing letting him down in the first half, although he did later lay on Hurrell’s try. 5

Luke Gale: There were understandable signs of rust in his first game back but he did keep his cool to slot over a late drop goal that should have been enough to win the game in normal time. 6

Mikolaj Oledzki: A typically strong showing from the imposing prop and he came up with a big play in golden point to put Hurrell away. 6

Brad Dwyer: One half-break aside in the first half it was a frustrating night for the hooker. 5

Matt Prior: Works tirelessly every week but is guilty of trying too hard and making errors at crucial times. 6

Alex Mellor: The second-rower made an error early on and it was that kind of evening before he was forced off with an apparent head injury late in the first half. 5

Rhyse Martin: Went over for Leeds’ first try and held his nerve in golden point to boot his team to victory. 6

Jarrod O’Connor: An energetic performance as he impressed in both stints, the highlight a nice piece of play to help lay on Hurrell’s try. 7

Bench

Kruise Leeming: A scheming performance from the hooker and the Rhinos looked more threatening with him out on the field. 6

King Vuniyayawa: Made an impact off the bench although he was comfortably handled by the Wakefield pack in the main. 6

Sam Walters: Showed some naivety trying to get an offload away in his own half and it cost his team two points. 5

Morgan Gannon: It is hard to believe he is only 17, with the youngster producing a massive stint in the middle against some big experienced forwards. 7
