Leeds Rhinos lose two key stars with new signing handed unexpected debut against Hull KR

Richie Myler and Nene Macdonald are both surprise absentees for Leeds Rhinos' trip to Hull KR. The pair, who were both named in the initial 21-man squad, will not feature for Rohan Smith's side after being left out.

Papua New Guinea centre Macdonald is understood to have picked up a calf injury the Rhinos have decided not to risk. The issue isn't thought to be serious but Leeds have decided not to risk it. Myler's absence has not been specified.

It means Luke Hooley comes in for his debut in Myler's absence, with the fullback given a chance to impress for the first time since his move from Batley Bulldogs in the off-season. Luis Roberts also comes into the side, playing off the bench. Derrell Olpherts is promoted to the starting line-up.

Meanwhile, there are two other changes, with Mikolaj Oledzki being named in the squad for the first time since his shoulder injury, while James Bentley is also recalled. Oledzki starts from the bench while Bentley is in the 13 that will start the match. Bentley's return sees Zane Tetevano move back to prop, with Sam Walters dropping out. Oledzki replaces Corey Johnson.

Rhinos: Luke Hooley, David Fusitu'a, Harry Newman, Rhyse Martin, Derrell Olpherts, Blake Austin, Aidan Sezer, Tom Holroyd, Jarrod O'Connor, Zane Tetevano, James McDonnell, James Bentley, Cameron Smith. Mikolaj Oledzki, Luis Roberts, Sam Lisone, Justin Sangare.

After a controversial swap deal that has got people talking, the latest House of League episode welcomes Hull KR and Wakefield Trinity CEOs Paul Lakin and Michael Carter, who give their take on the Corey Hall/Will Dagger trade, plus lots more.
