Leeds Rhinos fullback Jack Walker, who is currently on loan at Hull FC, has become a father for the first time. His partner delivered their first child on Wednesday evening, a daughter the couple have named Willow.
The baby was born at 7:16pm on Wednesday and weighed 6lbs 14oz with the young family leaving the hospital this Thursday afternoon.
The 22-year-old has spent the last seven weeks on loan at the Black and Whites, playing six games and scoring two tries against Huddersfield and St Helens.
However, things aren't as heartwarming for Walker on the field, with Hull coach Brett Hodgson confirming a season ending ankle injury this Thursday afternoon.
"Jack has a syndesmosis injury which I believe requires an operation for him," Hodgson said. "I'm absolutely gutted for the boy - he's a great kid.
"He's just had a baby girl on Wednesday too so it's bittersweet for him. Unfortunately he's played his last game for us this season."
Walker, who has impressed in his time in East Yorkshire, is still under contract at Leeds, but Hull do have the option to make the loan move permanent.
