Leeds Rhinos hammered by more injuries ahead of Leigh Centurions trip

Leeds Rhinos are down to their final 21 players after injuries hit Richard Agar's squad hard yet again.

Captain Matt Prior misses out on the squad completely after being absent for the win over Castleford Tigers through Covid-19 protocols.

Compounding his loss is the absence of King Vuniyayawa, who started in the defeat to the Tigers but suffered a HIA and has not been cleared to play.

Halfback Callum McLelland is also out with an HIA but is set to be replaced by Luke Gale after he served a one-match ban that saw him miss last week's match.

Sam Walters has been recalled to the squad alongside Levi Edwards, who is currently out on loan at Batley but will be recalled should the Rhinos be in need of his services.

But the latest injuries bring concern around the Rhinos' pack. Mikolaj Oledzki is out for the season after undergoing a foot operation, meaning Leeds are without three of their senior front-rowers for Friday's game with the winless Leigh Centurions. Alex Mellor is also out for the season, causing further problems in the back-row.

Rhinos: T Briscoe, Newman, Hurrell, Handley, Lui, Gale, Leeming, Martin, Tetevano, Dwyer, L Sutcliffe, Myler, Smith, Holroyd, Thompson, Walters, L Briscoe, Donaldson, O'Connor, Edwards, Gannon.
