Leeds Rhinos confirm rearranged date for Salford Red Devils fixture

Leeds Rhinos' clash with Salford Red Devils has been moved to Sunday.

The two sides were set to meet in their Super League clash on Friday night, the same time as England's clash with the Combined Nations All Stars.

However, with Leeds having five players in the England game and a further five players unavailable until the weekend due to Covid-related matters, the Rhinos were unable to raise a side.

As a result, Leeds requested the game was pushed back to ensure they could fulfil the fixture, even though it leaves both clubs having to undergo a short turnaround ahead of a hectic 14-day period.

That request has now been accepted and the game will take place at the AJ Bell Stadium, with kick-off arranged for 1pm.

In a statement released by the club for fans who had obtained a ticket, the club said: "Ticket holders for Friday’s game will be able to use them for Sunday’s match.

"If you are unable to attend Sunday’s re-arranged please contact the Salford Red Devils ticket office by emailing ticketoffice@ajbellstadium.co.uk with your phone number and the ticket office will call you back to arrange a refund."

The added: "We would like to thank the RFL, Super League and Salford Red Devils in working with us to find the best solution to ensure this weekend’s game can still take place."
