Leeds Rhinos await James Bentley injury verdict after back injury

Leeds Rhinos are hoping to receive an early off-season injury boost today as James Bentley continues to recover from a back injury.

The new Rhinos star missed the end of last season with a back injury that robbed him of a Grand Final appearance with St Helens.

The circumstances surrounding Bentley's injury were unspecified but Saints said he would miss an extended period after the injury picked up at Magic Weekend.

He ultimately missed the last month of the season but the Rhinos are hopeful that Bentley will receive the green light to return to full training when he sees specialists today.

"He will see a consultant on Friday to get the all-clear and we're hopeful that will be the case," head coach Richard Agar said.

If that's the case, Agar is expecting a near fully fit squad at his disposal for the start of pre-season.

Only Liam Sutcliffe is expected to be out of action when the squad returns on November 22nd.

"Believe it or not, everyone is fit," Agar said.

"Liam Sutcliffe will be around January by the time he runs, but everyone else is looking good.

"Jack Walker is back in full training and is fine, Aidan Sezer had surgery early and is good to go now, so apart from Liam, we'll have a full bill of health."
