Leeds Rhinos and Jack Walker suffer major injury blow

Luckless Jack Walker has been dealt a cruel injury setback after being ruled out for eight weeks with a hamstring injury. The Leeds Rhinos fullback was forced from the field in the draw with Huddersfield Giants and scans have shown a grade two tear which will see him miss around two months of action.

It's a gutting blow for Walker, who had returned to form after missing almost two years of action with a serious foot injury. He had been an ever-present for the Rhinos this year and had gradually played his way back into form.

It's another setback for Leeds too, who are already without a string of key players, including fellow fullback Richie Myler. He is expected to be out for another two to three weeks, leaving the Rhinos without a recognised number one at a critical time of the season.

With Aidan Sezer and Corey Johnson also out, Leeds are sturggling within their creative ranks while fellow key players Harry Newman and David Fusitu'a remain on the sidelines. Forward Zane Tetevano will sit out two games through suspension following the game with Castleford Tigers.

Posting on Instagram, Walker published a photo of him leaving the field with the caption "Forward we go!! I'll be back."

One positive is that Leeds have two bye weeks within Walker's expected time on the sidelines, which helps reduce the number of games he will miss. The Rhinos are out of the Challenge Cup and therefore don't have games on two weekends in May.
