Leeds records Yorkshire's biggest jump in coronavirus cases

Leeds has once again recorded the biggest increase of coronavirus cases in Yorkshire, over the last 24 hours.

The city has recorded a further 85 positive cases in the last day, taking the city's total number of confirmed cases to 5,334.

Bradford was close behind, recording a further 74 cases of the virus.

Sheffield also saw a large spike, as the South Yorkshire city recorded 64 cases in the last day.

Across the wider Yorkshire area, there have been a further 403 cases of coronavirus confirmed, as no single area failed to record any new cases.

The fewest new cases were confirmed by Doncaster and Hull, which both recorded a further six.

However, despite this increase in cases across Yorkshire, the county did not record a single death from the virus in the last 24 hours.

This comes as parts of Yorkshire prepare for a possible local lockdown, as the R rate continues to creep up.
